Phase One – Begins February 2008
This map illustrates the airport road plan during ABC including open and closed lanes, the cell phone lot, shuttle and bus parking and disabled pick up and drop off.
Due to Sensitive Security issues, the old lobby will be completely closed to the public until the ABC project is complete.
LANE REDUCTION:
The first major phase of the ABC project is the reduction of lanes in front of the terminal and ticket lobby.
The road lanes between the ticket lobby and center median will be reduced between February 20, 2008 and November, 2009 to allow the construction and operation of a temporary ticket lobby. The road lanes between the parking garage and center median will remain open and provide access to the terminal area for pick-up and drop-off as well as access to the parking garage, surface lot and rental car area.
TEMPORARY TICKET LOBBY:
In the early stages of the ABC Project, the public will see the construction of a temporary ticket lobby beneath the existing green awning on the front curb of the terminal. Additional crosswalks will also be created from the center median to the temporary lobby.
RELOCATING AIRLINE COUNTERS:
In late May, 2008, Southwest Airlines will be the first of the airlines to move their ticket counter operation from the existing lobby to the temporary lobby. And it will move from its current location to the southernmost end of the check in area. From June through July, the rest of the airlines will be moving as well.
